Monideep Dey serves as a US technical expert in international committees on sustainable development and trade at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Monideep Dey has also served as a US delegate on international standards committees on conformity assessment and fire safety at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Monideep Dey presently consults on advancing economic development with innovative regulation and international standards.
Dr. Monideep Dey's experience spans over 42 years in standardization, regulation and policy matters at the national and international levels in government, private industry and international organizations. His work is documented extensively in Publications of Monideep Dey.
At the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC), Dr. Monideep Dey pioneered the use of innovative performance-based regulation which utilizes advanced models. This work included the verification of the models for use in nuclear safety regulation. After retirement at the highest grade level following 21 years of federal service, his work there led to international standards at ISO for use in robust regulations that require the use of certified models.
